Facebook Messenger AI agents on VegaDūta

VegaDūta connects an AI agent to Facebook Messenger through the official Meta Graph API. Messages sent to your Facebook Page route to your agent, which replies in the conversation — in any of the 22 Indian and global languages agents support. Messenger is also a workflow trigger channel, so an inbound message can start an automated multi-step process.

How the connection works

You connect your Facebook Page and the platform handles the Graph API plumbing: inbound message events route to your attached agent, and the agent's replies post back through the API. There is no separate bot infrastructure to host.

  • Official Meta Graph API connection for Page messaging.
  • Inbound routing to your agent, outbound replies.
  • Messenger as a workflow trigger channel.

What a Messenger agent handles

Pre-sales questions, support requests, lead qualification from Page visitors — the agent answers with whatever knowledge and tools you have given it. It is the same agent runtime as every other channel, so guardrails and human approval gates on tool calls apply here too.

Messenger messages as workflow triggers

An inbound Messenger message can start a Temporal-backed workflow: classify the enquiry, gather details, act through a connected tool, and hand off to a human where your flow says so.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI agent answer my Facebook Page messages?

Yes. VegaDūta routes messages sent to your Facebook Page into your agent via the official Meta Graph API, and the agent replies in the Messenger conversation. You configure its knowledge and tools in the agent builder.

Does VegaDūta use the official Messenger API?

Yes. The integration runs on Meta's Graph API — the sanctioned path for Page message automation — not on unofficial clients or browser automation.

Can a Messenger message trigger a workflow?

Yes. Messenger is one of VegaDūta's workflow trigger channels, so an inbound message can start a Temporal-backed workflow such as lead capture or support intake.

Can one agent cover Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp together?

Yes. Agents and channels are decoupled, so a single agent can be attached to all three Meta-family channels at once — plus Telegram, Slack, email, and the rest of the lineup.
